iwoca’s gearing up for our third Xerocon this year – this time we’ve gone for Gold. Our brand is bolder, our team is bigger and we’re eager to meet more next generation accountants and bookkeepers. Here's five reasons why we can't wait.

Hearing inspiring keynote speakers

We all need a reminder of ‘why we do what we do’ every now and again. Hearing how others have overcome their hurdles to get where they is a great way to do this. Our team are especially excited to hear from Major Tim Peake CMG, the first British ESA Astronaut to visit the International Space Station. Hearing Major Tim Peakes’ talk may be the closest the iwoca accountants team will ever get to space in real life.

On Wednesday, Rich Sutton will be speaking a little closer to earth at 3.15pm on the Xerocon Gold stage, discussing the vast lending gap that faces small businesses seeking finance. Be sure to pop round to see him.

Speak to the exhibitors

They’re there to speak to you. Try and make time to speak to the vendors and see if your firm and clients could benefit from their service. Accounting is becoming more tech led: streamlining and advisory services are more accessible than ever through apps. There will be time to meet exhibitors on both days – research beforehand so you can see everything you want to.

Make it a team affair

Not only will you earn Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours at Xerocon, but it'll help your colleagues share the excitement brewing around accounting cloud services. After all, it’s not about dark offices, calculators and grey suits anymore. Split the team to cover more ground, then regroup in the office to summarise what you learned and how it could benefit the whole firm.

Get to know others attending

People learn from people. Xerocon is a great opportunity to meet others from around the UK who care about the smarter processes made possible through Xero. Peers are always able to offer advice on different approaches they’ve taken, and networking can lead to great business opportunities (and friendships!).

The greatest party, ever?

Who doesn’t love a party? After a busy day listening to talks and speaking to vendors, it's only fair to relax and let your hair down for a bit. But this is not your normal evening event. The Xerocon party is an assault on the senses, showcasing Xero customers’ amazing food, drink, music and people.

If you manage all of the above and have some time to spare? Make sure you come and speak to the iwoca team at our coral-red stand in the exhibitor hall. We’ll be happy to talk about the ways you can help your business clients access finance where and when they need it.
