We spoke with Jon Techilovsky,Head of marketing & innovation at DCTUK about how iwocaPay is helping the business win customers with streamlined checkouts and flexible payment options.

DCTUK has been supplying and installing flooring across the UK and Europe for over 17 years. From single-room makeovers to large corporate refurbs, this family-run business is working with residential and commercial customers alike to find their perfect flooring solution.

DCTUK has always understood the importance of flexible payments, but couldn’t find an effective way to offer them.

Before Covid-19, the team was already offering traditional credit accounts to commercial customers, but these weren’t a perfect solution for anyone. Customers setting up a credit account would be met with lengthy approval processes, while the DCTUK team would have to spend valuable time assessing customers and chasing up late payments. “We didn’t want to reopen these accounts after the pandemic, but we still wanted to help our customers avoid upfront costs”, says Jon. “We knew we needed to offer an alternative, effective finance solution which would allow them to spread the cost of their payments – ideally one that would benefit our business too. We came across iwocaPay and haven’t looked back.”

“Customers are loving the option to spread the cost. Before iwocaPay, we might have lost some of them entirely.”

Since DCTUK brought iwocaPay on board, the team hasseen its potential to attract and hold onto customers, and keep them from going to rival suppliers. DCTUK puts this new found competitive edge down to iwocaPay’s ease-of-use compared to other flexible payment options: “it has provided us with a simple tool that allows our customers to access finance quickly to help them pay for our products and services. The integration with our checkout and quote process has been completely pain-free, and as a result, we’ve seen a steady number of customers using iwocaPay to pay for their new flooring.”

iwocaPay helps DCTUK empower customers to take on work they’d otherwise have to pass on.

“We deal with a lot of contractors where cash flow is always an issue, so it’s great to be able to support their businesses by giving them the option to spread their payments over three or 12 months.” A lot of those contractors will be paid on completion – a standard practice in the industry. One particular client was booked to install flooring at London Euston station, but wouldn’t be paid until the work was done. It was a huge contract to win, but they didn’t have the funds to front the cost. Thankfully iwocaPay was available to help. “This contractor was able to use iwocaPay to get the flooring they needed to complete the job, which was around £10,000 worth of product.” Another client, a charity, was able to use iwocaPay to finance the flooring of a much-needed community centre for the local area. It was able to spread the cost of the £15,000 purchase over 12 months, breaking the total sum down into more affordable monthly payments. “Our customers are our top priority. When you hear these stories, you can appreciate how important payment flexibility really is.”

Using iwocaPay as a  marketing tool lets businesses attract  new customers without any extra effort.

Every quote we send out on email has the iwocaPay option clearly labelled and made available to them. This means we don’t have to rely on our sales team to offer it at each and every point of sale, it’s all set up and done automatically. As a result, customers can simply click through into the application process without needing to contact our team.” By adding iwocaPay messaging into marketing materials, the team can drive more sales without any additional work – a win-win.

Faster checkouts and better finance options are helping DCTUK convert more customers.

Our research shows that long and clunky checkout systems force an average of 17% of customers to abandon their cart. By comparison, the speed and simplicity of the iwocaPay checkout process means DCTUK can keep momentum up throughout the customer’s journey. “With iwocaPay, our customers are able to finance their purchase quickly without slowing down the sales process”, says Jon. Even better, the funds are always accessible to DCTUK immediately after someone checks out. Customers choose to spread the cost over 3 or 12 months, but iwocaPay takes on all of the credit risk; Jon and the team can get on with the job without spending time chasing up payments.
