iwoca runs the F&B Hackathon at Imperial
We collaborated with the Oxford Guild and Imperial’s career societies to put together a Hackathon. What is a Hackathon you ask? A Hackathon is an event where teams code competitively. Our Hackathon saw over 100 students from undergrad to PHD level racing to create their own business banking product (keeping our own developers on their toes!).
The Hackathon started on Saturday and ran over two days. Teams weren’t expected to work through the night, but some did code away until the event ended on Sunday afternoon. Team Banque de France was crowned as the winner, taking home a hamper of goodies, all from iwoca customers. This is part of our internal commitment to showcasing small businesses, #goallsme.
The aim of the Hackathon was to increase our graduate outreach, and to test out a format for future Hackathons. It was great to see students interacting with the iwoca brand, and thinking about our product in innovative ways.
Special thanks to Robbie, Lee, Dom and Niamh for helping to develop and run the event. Make sure to keep an eye out for more Hackathons to come.
