For many of us, summer is a time to get away and take a break from the daily grind. But at iwoca we had a hunch that UK business owners aren't giving themselves the time off they deserve.

To find out, we undertook some research and found that, of the 1,000 business owners we asked, a whopping 37 percent had taken no more than 15 days holiday in the last year.

So, to encourage the owners of small and medium-sized businesses across the UK to take time off, we launched the Give Me a Break campaign by offering them the chance to win a holiday up to the value of £3,300 – the average amount spent on a holiday by the people we surveyed. The prize includes flights from the UK and accomodation from  Villascapes, an iwoca customer who provides apartments and villas in Portugal's beautiful Algarve. The winner is Bubblicious Bathtime, owned by Lisa Klier from Gwent.

To enter, owners of small and medium-sized businesses simply need to tell us how their holiday habits have changed since running an enterprise.

Some business owners told us that they do indeed take very little time off, and with little planning ahead: 'We take a panic last minute holiday when we are desperately in need of a break, and can squeeze in the time between events!' (Ann from Suffolk).

Holiday can be dictated by the needs of customers. Lucy from Norfolk said 'I now plan my holidays around business demands, to make sure I can give my customers what they need.'
