Processing your biometric data
Onfido privacy notice
As part of iwoca’s provision of services we undertake digital identity verification checks in order to comply with our regulatory obligations. Accordingly, we (or a third party provider on our behalf) will perform cross-referencing checks to establish your identity.
We collect and our partner Onfido processes your biometric data. This is by processing a live image of you (or ‘selfie’) next to other key identifiers – like your name – as shown on the identity documentation you also provide to us. The use of biometric data is necessary for digital identity verification and, as this involves special categories of personal data, we need your express consent to engage in this processing. You provide us with this consent by selecting the “I confirm consent for verification” box prior to completing your identity verification task.
We do not collect any other special categories of personal data about you (this includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health, and genetic data) other than biometric data as outlined above. Nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.
