We spoke with Nathan, a Developer at Abbey Access, about how flexible payment terms with iwocaPay help their trade customers buy the equipment they need while Abbey Access gets paid instantly.

Abbey Access is an online retailer supplying a wide range of equipment to customers across the UK, including both individual customers and businesses. Its products include generators, garden machinery, tools, ladders and access equipment.

For many business customers, equipment such as generators, large tools and ladders can be a significant investment, often costing over thousands of pounds. At the same time, those businesses may be waiting 30 or 60 days to be paid by their own customers. If they need equipment straight away, paying the full cost upfront can put pressure on cash flow and delay an important purchase.

That's where iwocaPay comes in, giving trade customers the option to spread the cost over 1, 3, or 12 monthly instalments, while Abbey Access gets paid instantly.

More payment options, without the extra admin

Abbey Access has always wanted to give customers more flexibility to pay. iwocaPay makes that possible without them having to set up or manage payment terms themselves.

At checkout, customers choose to pay with iwocaPay, check their eligibility without affecting their credit score and select the payment terms that work for them. Abbey Access processes the order as normal and receives the full amount instantly.

“We have always been keen to offer our customers better and more flexible payment options. iwocaPay gives our customers another way to pay for larger purchases, while we can continue to process the order as normal. We receive payment from iwocaPay straight away.” – Nathan, Developer at Abbey Access

Helping businesses bridge the cash-flow gap

Spreading the cost makes a difference when a business needs a piece of equipment straight away but the money isn't available yet. In one example, a customer needed a generator but couldn't pay for it upfront. Paying in instalments meant they could go ahead and get the generator when they needed it without putting pressure on their cash flow.

“iwocaPay can help bridge that gap, allowing them to get the equipment they need without putting as much immediate pressure on their cash flow.”

Now, the Abbey Access sales team has another tool when talking to customers about larger purchases.

“iwocaPay gives our sales team another option to offer when a customer needs finance before they can place a larger order. It means we can help customers move forward rather than potentially losing or delaying the sale.”

A simpler way to handle payments, even when things don't go to plan

iwocaPay doesn't just help Abbey Access make a sale, it also makes managing payments straightforward when things change. In one example, a customer needed a refund on an order that had been purchased through iwocaPay. Abbey Access was able to process the refund easily, without complications for either the team or the customer.

“We were able to process it without unnecessary complications, which made the situation much easier for both us and the customer.”
